How do you measure the value of a good book? How do you measure the value of seeing things in a new way? How do you measure the value of understanding your neighbor? It's the difference they make in your life.
You know literature, learning, and community are things that enrich our lives and inform who we are. Rhode Island Council for the Humanities knows this too. You can see the difference we're making.
Last year we served more than 250,000 Rhode Islanders, funded $120,000 in community projects, and hosted conversations across the state on the tough issues that face us today. This is the real difference RICH makes. You are part of the difference we're making.
Please give generously to allow projects like these to continue in our state.
Give to Our Annual Campaign. Since NEH funding doesn’t cover our operating budget, our annual campaign is a great way for you to help support the daily costs of providing high-quality humanities-based services to all Rhode Islanders. To make a donation, make your check payable to the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities and send it to our office at 385 Westminster Street, Providence, RI 02903. You may also make a donation using your MasterCard or Visa or by transferring stock. For more information, please contact Kristin Sawyer at 401-273-2250 or kristin@rihumanities.org.
Check an Item Off of Our Wish List. Here at the office we frequently discover new opportunities to improve our productivity, performance, and offerings and thus provide our grantees, friends, and constituents the best service possible. Usually fulfilling these needs costs more than our budget includes. So, we have implemented a new giving tool (posted online)—our wish list—for donors who want to make a specific impact on our mission. Items include the following:
~One new Apple laptop (with enough memory for graphic design projects and podcast development)
~Adobe Creative Suite software package
~Filemaker software package
~Extra RAM for iBook G4
~A projector system (the type that can be hooked up to display from laptops) and projector screen
~HP Color LaserJet cartridges in black, cyan, yellow, and magenta
~Copy paper
